[Salon] UK Diplomat: My Heathrow nightmare returning from Russia

Ian Proud was a member of His Britannic Majesty's Diplomatic Service from 1999 to 2023. He served as the Economic Counsellor at the British Embassy in Moscow from July 2014 to February 2019. He help put UK sanctions on Moscow in 2019. He told authorities he was going to the Valdai conference in Russia before he traveled there. But that didn't stop his detention when he got back.
